This is a nice rig. It is too bad that this kind of thing is deemed to be old fashioned and clearly not sexy. Leica and Leitz produced a range of odd looking things that work supremely well and, as far as I know, constitute the most competent photo system ever. Lumpy - yes. Works? Better than anything.

Perhaps it was all too sensible and not marketable, like the shoes your mother bought for you when you were a kid.

I wonder why we do not have a modern Dual-range Summicron. The original is simply fabulous. Yes, I know about the 90mm macro-elmar.

It's a neat add on to a great lens --- love the shoes analogy --- it has been fun playing with some new perspectives for photos using this -- leica dropped the ball by not producing accessories like this for the summarit, the elmarit, the 90 summicron, and such --- the combination of collapsible summicron and sooky-m make for some great images --- still getting the feel for the ultra narrow depth of field ---

I've not figured out quite if this changes the depth of field and what it really ends up being -- I've been shooting it wide open at f2 -- waiting for some bright days to try it at f8 and such
