Advertisement Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 Hi barnack, Take a look here Infrared Photography w/ Leica V-Lux 1. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
lesh Posted March 11, 2009 Share #2 Posted March 11, 2009 Can't answer that question - although I had thought that in many cases the internal lens design of PanaLeica digitals meant that an infra-red filter would not function. Could be wrong about that, but that's my recollection from some time back when my camera of the day, a Panasonic FZ1, was apparently one of the few with the ability to accept the IR filter. Results were not bad. It would be nice to try IR shots again with some more recent gear, so I'd also be interested to hear of the experience of others. farnz Posted March 11, 2009 Share #3 Posted March 11, 2009 I'd be very surprised if the V-Lux 1 doesn't have an IR-cut filter over its sensor, which would stop the camera from recording wavelengths in the infrared spectrum (c. 700 nm to 10,000 nm). There's a simple way to check: take a photo looking into the business end of your tv remote with one of the buttons pressed down to make it operate. If your V-Lux 1 records a light then get a suitable IR pass filter, attach it and you're good to go. Pete.
