leica888 Posted March 6, 2009 Share #1 Posted March 6, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Just bought an M3 tested it and when I scanned the negatives I notice a silloheute of a piece of half an inch thread hanging in every image.First I thought it was the lens so I changed it and shot another roll again...it was still there.I opened the back of the camera took out the lens and placed the speed to B so I can have a clear look at the gates if something was sticking out.I even used a magnifying glass. The gates where clear. Then I thought the scanner so I shot the with my M2 twice and scanned it and it was all clear. What can that be? Its baffling. Can that be a leak? Dont think so....anybody?

leica888 Posted March 6, 2009 Author Share #3 Posted March 6, 2009 its the thread on the upper right hand side....
Artorius Posted March 7, 2009 Share #4 Posted March 7, 2009 its the thread on the upper right hand side.... That is in the lower left portion of the shutter. Looks like it could be a piece of the light baffle or a piece of hair or some other debris. Definitely check the lower left corner as seen through the back of the camera with the door open.
