MPerson Posted March 2, 2009 Share #1 Posted March 2, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I seem to be suffering a strange phenomenon when re-visiting the forum. As soon as I come into the forum the first thing I do is click the "New Posts' button to catch up with what has been posted since my last visit. Lately I have become more and more aware that I am not seeing all the latest posts. Over the weekend I had posts appear that were started 2-3 weeks ago and I had never seen the only reason I saw them was because someone had posted to it at the weekend. I do not think it is vast numbers of posts but I wondered how the system remembers when I last logged in. Is it a cookie on my local system or is it maintained on the forum server? It's not the end of the world but it is mildly irritating

LUF Admin Posted March 2, 2009 Share #2 Posted March 2, 2009 Today some things may be running not so smooth as I'm updating the search index (will take the whole day I'm afriad). Perhaps this may have implications here... In general the "New Posts" / "Read/Unread Posts" is very complicated - I have to figure out how to configure this correctly... Best regards from Bonn Andreas
MPerson Posted March 2, 2009 Author Share #3 Posted March 2, 2009 Andreas - thanks for the quick response and I really appreciate the hard work you put into this forum. Crossed my mind if it was a hangover from the last update and the minor problems we had then: Problem with new posts As I said it is not a major problem.
