fechetm Posted February 22, 2009 Share #1 Posted February 22, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) hello dear Leica lovers. i just bought a leica Cl form ebay, and after a few films i saw that the photos cross each other. that is because tha film is not fully rolled when i arm the camera. sometimea it is rolled 100%, and all is ok, but sometimea, althow i arm the film completly, it olny roll 1/2 of the picture, si it will expose on a half of the previous photo. after i got out the film i notice that if i put a finger on the roll that rolls the film and arm it, i can easely stop it. the exact thing is happening with the 2 teeth-weels that are pulling the film. it can be easely stopped with my finger when i am arming my camera. what can i do about it? Advertisement Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 Hi fechetm, Take a look here Leica cl problem!!. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
luigi bertolotti Posted February 22, 2009 Share #2 Posted February 22, 2009 Probably there is something loose in the train of gears that couple film lever movement to film advance: Leica CL is a rather simple and well made camera, and several european repair shops can fix it... of course, if you have the possibilty to give it back to the ebay seller, all is depending on what you have paid for it : a very good CL with Summicron 40 is sold around 600-750 Euros nowadays: difficult that a well made repair (plus general CLA) costs less than, say, 200-250 Euro with shipments. BTW, your story further enforces my idea that buying Leica gear on ebay is a thing I prefer to stay away...
