inspire84 Posted February 19, 2009 Share #1 Posted February 19, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, I'm new to the forum but joined since I have two old Leica cameras that my grandfather had received after the war, I believe in Germany after the Holocaust. I will try to post pictures of them in the next thread but in the meantime can some one tell me more about them (when they were made, how much they are worth)? Are the lenses interchangable. I also notice that through the viewfinder you can't see the shift of focus, was another part needed for this? Thanks guys! luigi bertolotti Posted February 19, 2009 Share #4 Posted February 19, 2009 Easy answers: the older, a Leica III of 1937, the newer, a Leica IIIc of 1947 (probably... just after WWII there was a little confusion on numbers... could be even 1946). Similar, but indeed two very different cameras... the IIIc is worth some more detailed pictures... the "just postwar" items can have slight variations during to the difficult situation of materials amd parts availabilty. I will post some sharper pics later tonight, I have to charge my cameras battery. I will even use my micro lens for you guys! Can anyone tell me more about functionality of the camera?
