Advertisement Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 Hi Guest stnami, Take a look here World Press Awards. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Overgaard Posted February 13, 2009 Share #2 Posted February 13, 2009 Interesting that that could happen because usually all World Press is actual events and actual people. Reminds me of the LEGO series which was great Classics in Lego - a set on Flickr I love these two series in the World Press: 1st prize stories - World Press Photo 1st prize stories - World Press Photo
Marquinius Posted February 13, 2009 Share #3 Posted February 13, 2009 Hmmm ... wonder what the "press" viewpoint is in that one. The "world" part is simple: screwed up as usual. But the sun is shining and I'm going to the movies tonight, so who cares.
dave_d Posted February 13, 2009 Share #4 Posted February 13, 2009 Not very original and not photojournalism. This doesn't do much for the credibility of World Press Photo in my book. It is interesting how Li Jiejun recreated photos that had already been taken but I don't understand but they should be classified as art not journalism. I like David Levinthal's "Mein Kampf" and "Hitler Moves East" series' better. "Hitler Moves East" was done over 30 years ago. It is tough to do similiar work to what has been done already because you are going to be compared to the original creator. Li Jiejun double dipped on his photographs and and one an award for it. http://www.davidlevinthal.com/works.html
