Vic they are really nice subtle changes there, the second one I prefer, it's a bit richer tonally. You are a true craftsman and artist

Dircet teaching over the net works provided people have a " about photography" sensability , she surprised herself how quickly she learnt to process strong images in B&W digital

I put a new 'fun' home image on my web site, there may be some other B&W stuff as well

ah, no imants - i mean lets make a studying simulation between us..

i have only uploaded the RAW conversions of the scan...

what shall i do next ???

u like the second conversion... how to continue on???

in other words... we have a litle problem here.. we have to describe in words what actaully should be seen... we have to understand and trust our words and other people words in this cases and within the barier of small net files, and probably monitor issues (note if we both have good monitors then we can trust each other, but if we dont???)...

what to do now??

how u descirbe what u see, and how u describe what i shall do... how i understand what u say and how i do it in practice... and on and on...

Vic No 2 is a lot richer in tone though on my computer it has a warmer tone (brown)

we can dismiss no1.

I converted no 2 into grayscale and the back into RGB to make sure it was B&W

There is a problem with the eye in the lower poster being centrally located it dictates where the viewer's eye rests, shoulde a few tone darker.

At this stage the bus is the most interesting part of the i photo

Do you want to emphasise the depth of the image? ie the line created by the bus

Is the poster important?

I would burn in the right hand background and foreground.

I almost missed this one but I'm glad I came across it because it is sheer magic. The light and the casual action of the boys is captivating. I think there is a processing point somewhere in between your original post and the next two that brings out the best aspects of the image. I did some work on it and came up with an adjustment that looks great on my monitor. If you're interested in seeing it, let me know and I'll post it here.

Here it is. I just thought it needed some brighter highlights and a bit more shadow detail. This was all done very quickly using iCorrect (a Photoshop plug-in).
