One of them presumably is the German language. So the most likely would be Germany.

Correct!

I'll give you 3 more hints because it's probably rather difficult.

1.  post # 17380, the part written in capitals is important

2. the other commoness is a river

3. there is another billion dollar enterprise in town that had some  connection with the building in the background

hope that helps :)

Ok, it probably was too difficult for non-locals, so I'm gonna solve it in order to keep the thread alive ;)

The town I was looking for is Ehingen, situated in the southern part of Germany.

The mentioned river is the Danube River

The building was part of the headquarters of the Schlecker Corporation, a family owned europeanwide drugstore chain which went bankrupt in 2012 under dubious circumstances.

2017 the patriarch Anton Schlecker and his 2 siblings were convicted for several charges and got mild (IMHO  ) jail sentences.

The conviction is now under appeal.

The second big company which was involved in the construction is LIEBHERR, one of the leading manufacturers of construction machines and cranes worldwide.

So anyone with a new picture, please take over.

I believe this is in the ancient capital of Vietnam. It is called the Citadel of Whay (sp?). I remember it from when I was a company commander in Vietnam in 1969, one year after the Tet Offensive of the Spring of 1968. This monument took quite a beating after the South Vietnamese government allowed the artillery barrage because so many US and Southerners were being killed.
