Well done, I think that's close enough! It's taken from the top of the Telerifico cable car station above Quito looking down on the city. Rucu Pichincha is the mountain on from the cable car station. Too high for me!

Here's a shot of Volcano Pichincha from my window. The teleferico station is on the extreme left. You were standing on that ridge to the right of it. ( elev. 14,000 Ft.) The peak in the center is Ruco at 15,400 Ft. the oldest of its three peaks. Guagua is a bit higher and quite active. Sorry you ran into bad weather, you can see six or seven major snow capped volcanos from that vantage point.

Yes, I was only there for a few days for work and the sky was grey the whole time. And rain? It was almost like the rain back home - and I'm from Wales! ; ) Only on the afternoon I was due to leave did the clouds begin to part and the blue sky come out so that we could begin to enjoy the mountains. Ah well, next time! It was an interesting city - if Id had more time I was planning on a train journey but ...
