war Posted December 31, 2015 Share #15844 Posted December 31, 2015 Not Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. If you'r referencing those smoke stacks, they are from a 1900 steam plant that once supplied electric for a urban railway system and now provides steam and electricity for a huge area comprised mainly of university buildings and medical facilities. Go further west...(middle)

war Posted January 4, 2016 Share #15848 Posted January 4, 2016 Perhaps there is too much building and not enough geography in the photo, a hint should help. Today this river is over it's banks and five hundred miles from here it is causing historic catastrophic flooding.
otto.f Posted January 4, 2016 Share #15849 Posted January 4, 2016 You mean the Colorado?
Michael Geschlecht Posted January 4, 2016 Share #15850 Posted January 4, 2016 Hello Wally, What about Mississippi? Best Regards, Michael
war Posted January 5, 2016 Share #15851 Posted January 5, 2016 Hello Wally, What about Mississippi? Best Regards, Michael Yes the Mississippi River it is. There is terrible devastating flooding in Missouri and Illinois where the river is breaching levees as I write. Now that you have the river, can you name the city where this photo was taken? The building?
otto.f Posted January 5, 2016 Share #15852 Posted January 5, 2016 Once, a long time ago, I was in St. Louis, this building is probably from later, so it could be....
war Posted January 6, 2016 Share #15853 Posted January 6, 2016 St. Louis is where the flooding is happening. This place is five hundred miles (900km) from there.
Michael Geschlecht Posted January 7, 2016 Share #15854 Posted January 7, 2016 Hello Wally, Cold that place that is 500 miles away be somewhat North of St Louis? Best Regards, Michael
war Posted January 7, 2016 Share #15855 Posted January 7, 2016 Hi Michael, Yes the place in the photo is about 500 miles north of St. Louis on the river which runs north-south.
Michael Geschlecht Posted January 14, 2016 Share #15856 Posted January 14, 2016 (edited) Hello Wally, There seem to be a lot of sleepy people out there. Perhaps because in some places it is WINDY & COLD. Is part of this City South of Lake Michigan? Best Regards, Michael Edited January 14, 2016 by Michael Geschlecht
war Posted January 14, 2016 Share #15857 Posted January 14, 2016 Hi Michael, Sorry, that would put it only about half way. There doesn't seem to be any interest in this one, perhaps a bad choice. So I'll throw in the towel and ask anyone still awake out there to post another more interesting photo. The river is the Mississippi, the city Minneapolis, the building the Guthrie theater and the French architect, Jean Nouvel.
otto.f Posted January 14, 2016 Share #15858 Posted January 14, 2016 I agree war. Not a place that I'd say: determined to see that with my own eyes
Michael Geschlecht Posted January 14, 2016 Share #15859 Posted January 14, 2016 Hello Everybody, Minneapolis is a perfectly reasonable place as far as I can tell. I think whether a place is an "on the radar" spot at the moment, or not, is not necessarily a good criteria for deciding whether or not something should be used as a subject in any of these photo location games. Part of the fun is to use clues from what is in the photo (Or is not.) to figure out where someplace is. Best Regards, Michael
war Posted January 23, 2016 Share #15860 Posted January 23, 2016 Anyone out there? This one went dead about 10 days ago. Someone please post!
