woorob Posted July 5, 2014 Share #14025 Posted July 5, 2014 Technically, it's a "creek." Hint -- if I had turned 150 degrees after taking this picture, you would have seen skyscrapers.
tundraline Posted July 5, 2014 Share #14026 Posted July 5, 2014 Duluth!
woorob Posted July 5, 2014 Share #14027 Posted July 5, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Not many skyscrapers in Duluth. Think of a city famous in years past for its grain mills and a creek named after an iconic Native American maiden.
stefans4 Posted July 5, 2014 Share #14028 Posted July 5, 2014 Hi Lars, hope you're well! Yes, the photo was taken the Sunday before last about 5 miles west of I-94. /quote] Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area? Although I don't quite understand how it can be "west" of I-94, as I-94 generally runs east-west...
tundraline Posted July 5, 2014 Share #14029 Posted July 5, 2014 Minnehaha Creek in Minneapolis, looking southeastward. Probably near Lake Nokomis.
woorob Posted July 5, 2014 Share #14030 Posted July 5, 2014 Give that man a cigar! Close enough, that's for sure. Minnehaha Creek in Minneapolis just off Lake of the Isles, facing west. Over to you.
tundraline Posted July 7, 2014 Share #14031 Posted July 7, 2014 Thanks, Bob. That was a tough one. Our next location, and the first clue: A mountain located in North America. @bumac Posted July 7, 2014 Share #14032 Posted July 7, 2014 Mount Rainier?
tundraline Posted July 7, 2014 Share #14033 Posted July 7, 2014 (edited) Mount Rainier? Right you are -- this is indeed Mt. Rainier. But which route, and which face of the mountain? Edited July 7, 2014 by tundraline
@bumac Posted July 7, 2014 Share #14034 Posted July 7, 2014 No idea.
tundraline Posted July 7, 2014 Share #14035 Posted July 7, 2014 Hint: This is one of the lesser climbed routes on the mountain. A dangerous serac overhangs the lower reaches of the ice climbing portions of the route, and should be skirted quickly early in the morning before the sun comes up. tundraline Posted July 9, 2014 Share #14036 Posted July 9, 2014 No idea. The name of the route is the Kautz Route (which is probably too obscure a thing to know on a photography forum). So over to you now, Bumac!

Michael Geschlecht Posted July 11, 2014 Share #14039 Posted July 11, 2014 Hello Tundraline, Thank you for the offer. I don't know much about computers & don't know how to put a photo on the Forum. Altho a number of people from this Fourm have tried to help me. Therefore, I will pass the opportunity to put the next photo to whomever would like to.
