Not sure how the Ai Weiwei hint is meant to be taken. Did he live there, exhibit work, was he inspired by the landscape?

Good job -- it is indeed Glasgow Green with the Nelson Monument commemorating the Battle of Trafalgar and Nelson's death to the right side of the photo. The band in the photo is the Robert Malcolm Memorial (RMM) Bagpipe Band associated with Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, British Columbia. The photo is from 2012, when RMM won the World Bagpiping Championship in Glasgow for Grade 3 bands.

With the Obelisk it was not too difficult, although there are more in Scotland than I had expected ;-)
