Hi Andreas,

 

I have no clue where it is. When I googled the image, this image showed up as "similar"!

 

I thought it funny :D

 

lol, well there are some similarities if you start to think of it :p

 

A clue: even if you get the country, you still have quite a few islands to choose from

Greece yes, but more or less on the other far end of the country

Correct ...... it is a Terebinth tree ...... which I believe turpentine can be extracted from ..... and as it was used for medicinal purposes in olden times, tying a cloth on the tree was meant to help in healing the donor ......

 

The 'church' is a bit of a misnomer .... it was catacombs originally and apart from this remakably untidy tree and a couple of empty dank caverns it is not very exciting .....
