adli Posted October 4, 2011 Share #8561 Posted October 4, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) That is correct, Andre. It is Ellis Island, New York and millions of immigrants had to pass through here when they arrived in their new country. Over to you!

otto.f Posted October 4, 2011 Share #8563 Posted October 4, 2011 If we would know that it's not in France, we would be a lot further
aremond Posted October 4, 2011 Share #8564 Posted October 4, 2011 France it is. My M9 has not been abroad yet By the way, this one was taken with the nice cv 21 (it does not help you a lot, I admit!).
otto.f Posted October 4, 2011 Share #8565 Posted October 4, 2011 I thanks! , I would have guessed SuperElmar 18mm
aremond Posted October 5, 2011 Share #8566 Posted October 5, 2011 To help a bit: this is actually not the castle itself that you are seeing there: it is more a gate. The castle is on the left hand side after the entrance and it is surrounded by water.
aremond Posted October 5, 2011 Share #8567 Posted October 5, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) To help a lot more : my friend Google says that by car, the shortest way from Notre Dame in Paris to the place where I stood to take the picture is 196 km. The château was built between the 16th and 17th centuries. It is less than 25 km away from a small town that gave its name to a world famous white wine. otto.f Posted October 5, 2011 Share #8568 Posted October 5, 2011 (edited) If it is surrounded by water I'd say Chenonceau. This however, is a picture of an unknown side for me in that case Edited October 5, 2011 by otto.f
Dirk Van der Herten Posted October 5, 2011 Share #8569 Posted October 5, 2011 Château de Tanlay.
aremond Posted October 5, 2011 Share #8570 Posted October 5, 2011 You nailed it Dirk! Tanlay it is (more on their website : www.chateaudetanlay.fr ) Besides Chablis, you can find in the close surroundings another nice Renaissance example in Ancy-le-Franc and an interesting castle in Maulnes. This area is really worth the visit (I am not involved in any way in the tourism business so this is free ad). Over to you Dirk Cheers Andre
Dirk Van der Herten Posted October 5, 2011 Share #8571 Posted October 5, 2011 Merci, André. The full tonal range and the composition makes your photo very interesting. It was clear that you referred to Chablis wine, but although I visited the château de Tanlay long time ago, I must admit I did not recognize it from the photo. So I had to use a Michelin map as well as Google. Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members!
