Osscot is presumably trying to be funny:rolleyes: but there is one thing in common between Bolsover and the location of my photo - both have been under the control of the Normans.

'Ascot' was being serious my twin great uncle Normans once occupied Bolsover Town Hall in a protest over the local Cotton Tax. :p

PS: They were both in the first wave of troops to land on Sicilly and planted the family crest on the beaches and renamed the place Bolsover-by-the Sea.

So there :p:P

Ok, I said I would post something in the evening, so here is something in the evening :). Should be an easy one...name of town and country, please (name of the church would be a bonus, worth investigating as the story behind it is quite interesting, the saint's statue is on the top of the belltower)

It is reachable via Google images but only with some difficulty. Mine isn’t the only photo of it.

I think it’s time for a clue to narrow down the search. It’s in southern England and it is a prominent landmark in the town where it stands.

No, not Leeds, Ian.

Gosport?

You got it, Ian. Gosport it is. Over to you now.

Here’s another V-Lux 1 snap of the Gosport Gasometer shot across a stretch of Lake Haslar.
