I have googled churches, chapels, and prieurés to no avail. The chapel of Saint Caprais has the looks from the side, but the vegetation seems different. Arne little more help maybe.... It is indeed correct that we are in Alpes Maritimes. The place we are looking for were abandonded by its inhabbitants in the 18th century as they moved back to where the village they previously re-sited from centuries earlier. In other words, you are looking for a village that re-sitet itself to this place, and then re-sited it self back again, leaving this place. Both places bear the name of the village though, even if one is abandonded. I'll post a picture wiht a differnet view from the site when I get home to my computer.
