jaapv Posted December 25, 2009 Share #2965 Posted December 25, 2009 I'm sure you're right, Dirk. Piazza del Campo, just next to the palace.
GMB Posted December 25, 2009 Share #2966 Posted December 25, 2009 In Siena of course. Of course this is NOT Sienna. I know it's Christmas and I did not want to make it too difficult but putting the name of the place in the photo would have been to easy:) But it is in the region. vertekijker Posted December 26, 2009 Share #2969 Posted December 26, 2009 'Monte dei Paschi di Siena' is the name of an Italian bank. It can be anywhere in the region I imagine - somewhere in Tuscany? I tried to read the street name - could that be 'Piazza IV Novembre'? ------------------- Frans

vertekijker Posted December 26, 2009 Share #2974 Posted December 26, 2009 Are we in Kyoto? Question of 'narrowing' it down a bit ------------------ Frans
noriko_miyazaki Posted December 27, 2009 Share #2975 Posted December 27, 2009 Frans, Indeed, the temple in question is in Kyoto. Noriko
vertekijker Posted December 27, 2009 Share #2976 Posted December 27, 2009 Ok... only over a thousand temples or so to sort through... You live in Antwerp now, Noriko? That is great! Welcome to Belgium! -------------------- Frans
vertekijker Posted December 27, 2009 Share #2977 Posted December 27, 2009 So much for my earlier defeatist attitude... Let me at least give it a try. Could it be the Nanzenji Temple in Kyoto? ----------------- Frans
noriko_miyazaki Posted December 27, 2009 Share #2978 Posted December 27, 2009 Yes, Frans, it is Nanzen-ji in Kyoto. Well done! By the way, "Bedankt voor uwe warme welkom." I have been living in and around Antwerp for more than 30 years. I may be more Flemish than Japanese. Best, Noriko
vertekijker Posted December 27, 2009 Share #2979 Posted December 27, 2009 Yes, Frans, it is Nanzen-ji in Kyoto. Well done!By the way, "Bedankt voor uwe warme welkom." I have been living in and around Antwerp for more than 30 years. I may be more Flemish than Japanese. Best, Noriko Dank u Noriko. And I have more Japanese in me than most Flemish people, I dare say By the way, that was a bit of a calculated guess - I have been to the Nanzen-ji temple, but I recognized nothing in that picture. But I saw an empty basin/pool and thought that it had to be somewhere near a source of water. That lead me to think of the aquaduct near this temple from which water is possibly tapped to fill the pool. I'm going to look for a new picture. Thank you, Frans
