Guest WPalank Posted August 1, 2009 Share #1904 Posted August 1, 2009 A desk in San Francisco? It is not on the North American Continent or in Turkey. You will get snow on the peaks but I'm pretty sure, never on the valley floor. A very strange part of the world to see Swiss style chalets.

stuny Posted August 1, 2009 Share #1908 Posted August 1, 2009 Your hint also makes me think of Baraloche, thought the alternative could be a bit further south in Torres Del Paine.
Guest WPalank Posted August 1, 2009 Share #1909 Posted August 1, 2009 It is not on the South American Continent. So gentleman, assuming 7 continents on the face of the earth we have now safely ruled out 2 of those. And if you are sharp and notice that there is no snow and ice everywhere, a third can be quickly ruled out as well.

doubice Posted August 1, 2009 Share #1913 Posted August 1, 2009 Thanks William, It was the 'Swiss Style Chalets' that put me on the right track. My train of thought went - Alps, French influence in North Africa, Atlas Mountains - maybe they are not 'Swiss' Style Chalets but 'Alpine' Style Chalets. They have those in the French Alps, so why not in the former French colonies? It will probably take me a while to come up with something - am in the office. Yes, on a Saturday....... Somebody has to pay for this expensive hobby.... Best, Jan Dvořák
doubice Posted August 1, 2009 Share #1914 Posted August 1, 2009 Here we go - please identify the 'city'. Hints will be probably needed so, fire away with your wild guesses........ stuny Posted August 2, 2009 Share #1915 Posted August 2, 2009 Jan - I'd say North America, probably above the 54th parallel, but I suspect that's not precise enough.
