larsv Posted December 28, 2019 Share #19148 Posted December 28, 2019 Wastewater treatment installation? I know of one for which there were plans for a spa.
AndreasG Posted December 28, 2019 Share #19149 Posted December 28, 2019 Looks like an old gasometer?
otto.f Posted December 28, 2019 Share #19150 Posted December 28, 2019 Not a gasometer, a wastewater etc. is closer but not right
AndreasG Posted December 28, 2019 Share #19151 Posted December 28, 2019 (edited) If not wastewater, then it is drinking water - an old water tower. There are many water towers in the Netherlands with the above windows arrangement, could be Utrecht? Edited December 28, 2019 by AndreasG
larsv Posted December 28, 2019 Share #19152 Posted December 28, 2019 (edited) Westergasfabriek? The “gashouder”. Amsterdam. Today part of an events terrain. Edited December 28, 2019 by larsv
Dirk Van der Herten Posted December 28, 2019 Share #19153 Posted December 28, 2019 Roelofarendsveen, a flowershop, previously a water tower.
otto.f Posted December 29, 2019 Share #19154 Posted December 29, 2019 (edited) Watertower is right, but the Netherlands is not, did I suggest that? That it has another function now is also correct. This is a view from the top. Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! Dirk Van der Herten Posted December 29, 2019 Share #19155 Posted December 29, 2019 Goldbergturm in Sindelfingen, besides a water tower, a restaurant and observation deck.
otto.f Posted December 29, 2019 Share #19156 Posted December 29, 2019 Germany is correct, Sindelfingen never heard of. The description of the current function is not correct
AndreasG Posted December 29, 2019 Share #19157 Posted December 29, 2019 Assisted by a lengthy research ( I need to admit, assisted by the internet) I think I found out: It is the watertower Hamburg-Winterhude in the City Park. It is now used as an observation tower and a planetarium. Interestingly, the greens shown above are occasionally used as open air stage, e.g., for the Rolling Stones. otto.f Posted December 29, 2019 Share #19158 Posted December 29, 2019 Good search Andreas! This is all correct, it is now a planetarium in the sense that it has a dome theatre where (mainly documentary and educational) movies are projected. The inside of the top of watertower shown above is not open to public but was shown to me and my family because my son had an important part in making a movie that was shown there about landing on Mars. From the balcony on the roof you can see the city, but this is not a public observation desk. Over to you! Welcome, dear visitor! AndreasG Posted December 29, 2019 Share #19159 Posted December 29, 2019 Well, Otto, let me submit another sacral building: Where is its location, what is the name, when was it built, when rebuilt and why?
