"Do you know the world ?" -- Competition --

Recommended Posts

Thank you Stephan for this interesting riddle.

The style of the domed building made me think at first of a Byzantine church, till I remembered I was there many years ago.

For the next one, we're not looking for the name of a location, but for the name of a composer

This composer wrote a 14-part suite, one of them dedicated to the building in the photo.

I might be wrong but it makes me think of Recuerdos de la Alhambra by Francisco Tárrega.

That would be a surprise for me, because I don’t see an Alhambra in this wall and no landscape that reminds me of Granada either. I rather associate it with Toledo, or something else around Madrid

No, as Otto pointed out, it’s not the Alhambra.

And Recuerdos de la Alhambra is not a suite, although the composer we’re looking for, is at least as well-known as Tarrega for those who love or play classical Spanish guitar.

Part XII of the suite gives us the name of the building.

The building is about 375 km. east of Madrid.
