war Posted December 4, 2015 Share #15751 Posted December 4, 2015 Maybe because it is a big lake ? I was about to respond to Michael that I didn't think the Mediterranean ever got that cold when you broke the code.

war Posted December 4, 2015 Share #15753 Posted December 4, 2015 Not the Aral. Hint: Unlike the Aral, which is tragically losing depth, this body of water is increasing in depth.
Michael Geschlecht Posted December 5, 2015 Share #15754 Posted December 5, 2015 (edited) Hello Wally, Perhaps the IJsselmeer? Best Regards, Michael Edited December 5, 2015 by Michael Geschlecht
war Posted December 5, 2015 Share #15755 Posted December 5, 2015 I thought I posted an easy one, so here are a bunch of hints to bring this one to an end: Dutch engineers had nothing to do with its creation, it was left by a giant glacier. It's surface area equals about 52 IJsselmeers, in fact you could float all of Netherlands in it. and the water in it is not salty.
Michael Geschlecht Posted December 5, 2015 Share #15756 Posted December 5, 2015 (edited) Hello Wally, Could this place be somewhere near your home in Chicago? After you said this body of water was formed by a glacier I realized that "but not that cold" might be a somewhat subjective observation.Best Regards, Michael Edited December 5, 2015 by Michael Geschlecht

war Posted December 5, 2015 Share #15758 Posted December 5, 2015 Hello Wally, Could this place be somewhere near your home in Chicago? After you said this body of water was formed by a glacier I realized that "but not that cold" might be a somewhat subjective observation. Best Regards, Michael Yes it's very near my home. And while it was formed by a glazier it has warmed up a bit in the last 14000 years. We swim in it in the summer and right now it's about 42F or 5C. way warmer than Astan Kazakhstan I'll bet. Give us the name and take your turn next.
Michael Geschlecht Posted December 7, 2015 Share #15759 Posted December 7, 2015 Hello Wally, I don't have anything I can Post right now so I will leave the answer to someone else who knows what a great place that is to swim in when the weather is a touch warmer than it appears to be in your nice photo.
