albireo_double Posted March 28, 2014 Share #13543 Posted March 28, 2014 (edited) Not sure how the Ai Weiwei hint is meant to be taken. Did he live there, exhibit work, was he inspired by the landscape?-------------- Frans Ai Weiwei moved a four tone rock from Sichuan to the summit of the Dachstein. “High Dachstein”: Ai Weiwei’s answers to the questions of the public Edited March 28, 2014 by albireo_double Added URL with link to article

tundraline Posted March 29, 2014 Share #13547 Posted March 29, 2014 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Good job -- it is indeed Glasgow Green with the Nelson Monument commemorating the Battle of Trafalgar and Nelson's death to the right side of the photo. The band in the photo is the Robert Malcolm Memorial (RMM) Bagpipe Band associated with Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, British Columbia. The photo is from 2012, when RMM won the World Bagpiping Championship in Glasgow for Grade 3 bands. Over to you! a.j.z Posted March 30, 2014 Share #13550 Posted March 30, 2014 Is this Moses? It is not frequently named as Moses (I only found one single source that states that it might also be Moses).
otto.f Posted March 30, 2014 Share #13551 Posted March 30, 2014 So it's formally unknown...? His beard is a bit Moses-like
a.j.z Posted March 30, 2014 Share #13552 Posted March 30, 2014 No it is not unknown - who else has a beard and ranks even higher than Moses?

a.j.z Posted March 30, 2014 Share #13554 Posted March 30, 2014 Karl Marx Which one of the Marx brothers is Karl? It is unlikely that a statue from the 16th century shows Marx.
Michael Hiles Posted March 30, 2014 Share #13555 Posted March 30, 2014 Don't know the statue, but it looks like an Italian copy of a Greek original. Is this in the Pitti Palace in Florence?

a.j.z Posted March 30, 2014 Share #13558 Posted March 30, 2014 It is not named Zeus although it might well be inspired by the Greek. While the pucture may create another impression we are in the center of the city.
