vertekijker Posted November 20, 2010 Share #6182 Posted November 20, 2010 Is that an airplane I see in the background? Maybe close to the airport of a big city? ------------------ Frans
Guest suilvenman Posted November 20, 2010 Share #6183 Posted November 20, 2010 Is that an airplane I see in the background? Maybe close to the airport of a big city?------------------ Frans A good idea, Frans, but it is over 80 kms - as the crow flies - to the nearest big city. Not China nor Vietnam although I can see why. Gaal's mention of the Pacific Ocean is getting us there. Ken.
Michael Geschlecht Posted November 20, 2010 Share #6184 Posted November 20, 2010 Hello Again Ken, Interesting. Given the above I would say New Zealand? Most likely South Island? Is the small plane a clue, size or otherwise? Best Regards, Michael

Guest suilvenman Posted November 21, 2010 Share #6187 Posted November 21, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Maybe Sponge Bay, part of Poverty Bay with Tuomatu Island? GaryO Too far south, Gary. Ken.
gearoido Posted November 21, 2010 Share #6188 Posted November 21, 2010 Ken, Whangaruhu Harbor then? GaryO
Guest suilvenman Posted November 21, 2010 Share #6189 Posted November 21, 2010 Now too far north, Gary. You'll be getting warmer (literally) if you search for an area between your first guess (Poverty Bay) and Whangaruru Harbour. Ken.
gearoido Posted November 21, 2010 Share #6190 Posted November 21, 2010 Tamaka Strait then. Lots of islands. I'll have it bracketed if not. GaryO
Guest suilvenman Posted November 21, 2010 Share #6191 Posted November 21, 2010 Same latitude as Tamaki Strait but fly about 80 kms east (and remember to take your loofah and shower gel ) Ken.

Guest suilvenman Posted November 22, 2010 Share #6193 Posted November 22, 2010 (edited) Uncle!!! How many Uncle Kens do you have, Gary? As far as I know my brother has never travelled to the USA (of course that's maybe just the story he told my sister-in-law). You've been trying lots and lots at this one, Gary. Ken. Guest suilvenman Posted November 22, 2010 Share #6194 Posted November 22, 2010 Looks like the steam is running out of this one. I was hoping my newly adopted nephew Gary or someone else would keep up the heat. The place we are looking for is conducive to romantic walks along the beach, to eating delicious seafood and to abundant bathing. Ken.

gearoido Posted November 23, 2010 Share #6197 Posted November 23, 2010 As it is -6 degrees here with cars every which way on the roads, I thought it might be nice to briefly return to a warm summer day. Please name the city in which the game is being played. There is a bonus of great admiration if one of the teams could be named. GaryO Welcome, dear visitor! doubice Posted November 23, 2010 Share #6198 Posted November 23, 2010 A very, very wild guess - Everett and the Aqua Socks? Best, Jan
gearoido Posted November 23, 2010 Share #6199 Posted November 23, 2010 Jan, You don't realize the effort I put into getting the last one. AND YOU GET THIS IMMEDIATELY. HAH!! Seriously - good job, and you are correct. Your turn. GaryO
doubice Posted November 23, 2010 Share #6200 Posted November 23, 2010 Gary, As I said - it was a very wild guess. I noticed the ‘Rural Metro Amb..” sign and assumed that it may stand for ‘Ambulance’. So - I googled Rural Metro Ambulance in the State of Washington (as that is where you are), found out that they were headquartered in Everett. Next step was ‘Everett baseball’ and the first team that popped up were the Aqua Socks. I have to add that, baseball is definitely not a sport that I am familiar with - my teens were spent with soccer and hockey in Europe and baseball was one of those strange games played ‘in America’. So - it was a truly wild guess and a big surprise that I was correct. Next puzzle will follow later today or tomorrow. Best, Jan
