"Do you know the world ?" -- Competition --

Frans,

My 'detective skills' are nothing compared to yours! But - thanks for the compliment!

Next challenge - I will need the name of the city and the building with the tower. For extra points - I will treat you to a beer of your choice when and if we meet ;) - name the bust on the pedestal!

Good luck,

Jan

Some day we'll drink a Staropramen ( or Budweiser - the real one) to Vit̆ezslav.

Cheers, Ken.

Sorry - not Germany, nor Brussels.

Ken seems to be on the money with his usual allegorical response. Since you recognized the poet, you obvously know the city and the building...... Please confirm slightly less allegorically and we'll be off to the next stage of this fun game.

I have to ask - how did you find Vítězslav?

Best,

Jan

About five or six years ago, we stopped at the nearby locally famous beer bar and then went on to this area so I recognised the buildings in your photo. I did not pick up on the statue at the time so I had to google using the locality's name. I've had a few photos in recently so I'll let this one go on.

Cheers, Ken.

Ken,

Since you were the only one who guessed the correct location, I think that you deserve a go with the next posting. As to whether I'll be buying you Staropramen or Budvar - there are so many excellent breweries there that it really does not matter..... The famous beer bar around the corner also serves a wonderful roasted and smoked pork hock..... To die for....

For everybody's information - city is Prague, building is the New Townhall located on Charles Square. The statue is of a Czech poet and journalist who lived in the second half of the 19th century - Vítězslav Hálek.

Ken, your turn.

Best,

Jan

You're right about the beer, Jan; the one at U Fleku was particularly nice. Prague is a truly beautiful, interesting city.

Right, here's the next one. What's the name of this feature behind the statue and where would you find it?

Cheers, Ken.

Hmmmm.. I did not come back to this page for a while and I should have....;)

This wouldn't be the dripstone wall (krápníková stěna) in the Wallenstein Garden (Valdštejnská zahrada) by any chance, would it?.....:p

Best,

Jan

Thanks, Ken. I have just returned from Prague and the memories are still fresh.... The fact that I was born there also helps somewhat....;)

For the next puzzle - I will need the exact location please; country and place.

Good luck,

Jan

There was a good clue in your picture, in the middle left of it.(Place St Bernard). Google did the rest.

My proposal is a place not too difficult to locate, especially for lovers of nature reserves.

I ask the name of the park and the name of the rock formation that appears in the picture.

Good luck

Barto
