robsteve Posted October 22, 2006 Author Share #5 Posted October 22, 2006 John: This one was in Cape Breton, Pleasant bay , which is near Cape North, the most Northern point of Nova Scotia. Here it is without the foreground boat.

pemayeux Posted October 23, 2006 Share #7 Posted October 23, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Both are nice shots with beautiful color. I personally prefer the first shot, I think the boat in the foreground adds a bit of balance.
jbm Posted October 24, 2006 Share #8 Posted October 24, 2006 I like the first picture. I also like the boat in the foreground. It provides a 3D effect. The colours are outstanding, and I love the boat with the eyes. It does bug me a little that the hill in the background is cut off. Thanks for sharing, --Jim
robsteve Posted October 24, 2006 Author Share #9 Posted October 24, 2006 It does bug me a little that the hill in the background is cut off. Thanks for sharing, --Jim Jim: It was overcast and I was trying to keep the sky out of the picture. I didn't notice that I truncated the hill when I was taking the picture. You are probably right that it would be better. I used a 2stop ND grad to bring what little of the sky there is down a bit in brightness. I just didn't want too much of the white sky.
