petewayne Posted January 18, 2009 Share #1 Posted January 18, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Wilton Windmill, on the Wiltshire/Berkshire border sits atop a windswept hill and is a 5 floor brick tower mill. The mill was constructed in 1821 because just to the north along the valley floor of the River Dun, the Kennet and Avon Canal was being constructed, leaving the traditional water mills of the area without the flow to power the mills.
