Ivar B Posted January 14, 2009 Share #1 Posted January 14, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I bought one of the prints made from Barnacks original negative (Cologne Bridge) supplied with the Barnack prototype replica Leica offered I believe in 2004. I know the camera was a complete flop and there was a huge unsold stock which was sold at greatly discounted prices. They prints however are really beautifully made I would be interested in having another one or two with a different motive, but I have not seen anything for sale in a long time: Does anyone know if they are still to be found and what they cost? Advertisement Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 Hi Ivar B, Take a look here Barnack Photos. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
k_g_wolf ✝ Posted January 22, 2009 Share #2 Posted January 22, 2009 LEICA never sold these seperately, they accompanied the version 2 LEICA replica, as you have stated already, Ivar. I got mine - the caligari-like mechanic looking into Barnack´s LEICA somewhat surprised - from somebody who got the replica but sold the photo ... It sits next to the LEICA- tree on my wall in a wooden- frame and looks just gorgeous. A very fine print from the darkroom experts in SOLMS. But I would have prefered the Cologne- bridge to be honest, better: having both would be fine ... Or, even much better: all of them ! BTW: You could choose between 10 Barnack photos: a portrait of his children, black forest landscapes, flood in Wetzlar. But you had to order replica for EUR 2.500 or even more.
