badpets Posted January 7, 2009 Author Share #65 Posted January 7, 2009 thanks KM-25. the process was also very educational; i got to know so much about characteristics of M3 and M history in general. what's more interesting is that i'm seeing my M8 in a completely different way now. how to say, despite i instantly felt in love with M3, at the same time, i began to appreciate/like M8 even more... i totally seeing myself carrying two bodies from now on. oh lord. This has been a fun thread, congrats on your M3, it looks great!
badpets Posted January 8, 2009 Author Share #66 Posted January 8, 2009 Just developed two rolls of my film by M3 today and frankly it was quite disastrous. Shot by Elmar-M 50mm are mostly blur and out focus. Shot by Noctilux seem spot on. I have to say the round-cornered frame line for M3 makes composition more fun, very cute in a way. I don't know if anyone else also feels anything special about it. Here're two photos by noctilux : b/w is taken at noon by the window and color is taken at 6PM. I like both of your shots, the one of the dog and Shibuya but the Shibuya shot is my favorite !! Very intense colors, reflects the mood of the "Neon"-city very well. badpets Posted January 9, 2009 Author Share #77 Posted January 9, 2009 now i'm not sure if my M3 calibrates with my lens. i guess there's no easier way to test focus other than having to take the photo and wait to see the result after the film was developed? here's one more photo shibuya / fujifim iso 400. johnwnyc Posted January 10, 2009 Share #78 Posted January 10, 2009 Shot by Elmar-M 50mm are mostly blur and out focus. Shot by Noctilux seem spot on. Make sure that the Elmar is pulled out fully and locked.
JBA Posted January 10, 2009 Share #79 Posted January 10, 2009 now i'm not sure if my M3 calibrates with my lens. Very unlikely that any lens will not "calibrate" to a film camera. The film plane is more forgiving than a digital sensor.
badpets Posted January 10, 2009 Author Share #80 Posted January 10, 2009 i think there might be error on my side. but anyway, i only use my noctilux on M3 now and it's spot on. love it.
