barjohn Posted January 22, 2009 Share #21 Posted January 22, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) There is another post in the digital thread showing an R lens on the G1 and it is very sharp. The M8 performs in camera moire reduction processing and more is done in C1 and now LR so you can't say the M8 doesn't produce moire. I have gotten moire on shots taken with the M8 that neither the in camera, or C1 or LR could take out. Needed to go to PS to reduce (not eliminate) it. Advertisement Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 Hi barjohn, Take a look here Kodak M8 Sensor. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
mtomalty Posted January 22, 2009 Share #22 Posted January 22, 2009 Not anymore, both have switched to DALSA with their latest models. Phase switched to Dalsa for their new P65+ but continues to use Kodak in their other production backs. Hasselblad continues to use Kodak if I'm not mistaken. Leaf, which is owned by kodak, uses Dalsa. Go figure. Mark
sdai Posted January 22, 2009 Share #23 Posted January 22, 2009 Hasselblad continues to use Kodak if I'm not mistaken. The upcoming H3D-60 has a DALSA inside.
vikasmg Posted January 22, 2009 Share #24 Posted January 22, 2009 Rumours are that Olympus will present a rangefinder 3/4 this year and Novoflex has already prepared the adaptors... Harald I think it's a micro-four thirds that they are planning to release. The mock model they showed at Photokina looks a lot like a small rangefinder even if somewhat adventurously coloured. vikasmg Posted January 22, 2009 Share #25 Posted January 22, 2009 I just surfed the internet for some B&W images by the E400? I can see a similar quality to my M8, at least it's closer than my Canon 5D. This camera must be a real keeper, I couldn't find one for sale on E-bay :-) Was there an E-400? There seem to be plenty of E-410s. I wonder if they are very different.
Printmaker Posted January 22, 2009 Share #26 Posted January 22, 2009 For what its worth, there is a Kodak sensor in my BetterLight scanback. Flawless.
t024484 Posted January 22, 2009 Share #27 Posted January 22, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) One thing that is underestimated to my opinion, is the in camera processing of the Sensor data. This processing is at least as an important for the final film like image quality. Hans
Puplet Posted January 23, 2009 Share #28 Posted January 23, 2009 Was there an E-400? There seem to be plenty of E-410s. I wonder if they are very different. The E-400 started off the entire series, vikasmg. Similar size/shape to the E-410/420, but no Liveview. You do, however, get more dynamic range out of the sensor than the E-410, and a weaker AA filter than that found in the E-420. Personally, it's my favourite Olympus dSLR to date.
