martinop Posted October 17, 2006 Share #2 Posted October 17, 2006 I like the tranquil scene / composition capturing the fall colors.
gylee Posted October 17, 2006 Share #3 Posted October 17, 2006 Good colours and composition and interesting subject. Thanks John. Not bad for an "old" digital! G.
abrewer Posted October 17, 2006 Share #4 Posted October 17, 2006 Nice to see one of yours again, John. I always thought the D1 was in many ways superior to the D2 in the kind of photos it produces. Correct me, but I think Dan Drabek uses the camera also; and his pictures always pique my interest. Speaking of fall, I see the same fading green/yellow coloring that is much more prevalent than the reds/browns/oranges I can remember from previous seasons here in the Midwest. Not sure if that's a sign of a rainy late summer and September as we had here or something else. Thanks. Allan
zanydave Posted October 17, 2006 Share #5 Posted October 17, 2006 The colours are stunning. Lovely shot. Dave

kld Posted October 17, 2006 Share #8 Posted October 17, 2006 Colors, reflections in the water, light, the scene .. a nice, calm and moody autum portrait. -- Klaus
lambroving Posted October 18, 2006 Share #9 Posted October 18, 2006 John, VERY nice! You are ahead of us here. It's been wet, so the colors this autumn will probably not be as strong as usual in the NE.
dan_drabek Posted October 19, 2006 Share #10 Posted October 19, 2006 Beautiful quality of light in this one John. And of course, there's the color.. DD
leicamann Posted October 22, 2006 Author Share #11 Posted October 22, 2006 Thank you everyone...yes the D1 inspite of the severe critism and punishment it receieved a few years ago on the old Leica Forum is still a good camera and still takes great images...if you know its limitations, what optimal conditions to use it in . Dan nice to see you back..any Digiscoping lately? Thanks again Regards, Leicamann
dan_drabek Posted October 23, 2006 Share #12 Posted October 23, 2006 Dan nice to see you back..any Digiscoping lately? Thank's John. I've been so busy recently that I only get to drop in from time to time. I still do some digiscoping, but the D1 is semi-retired now. I do carry it as a take-anywhere-camera though. It still has it's undeniable charms. DD
