intex Posted January 1, 2009 Share #1 Posted January 1, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) What would be the best brand of Digital UV Filter for the following lens: APO-TELYT-M 1:3.4 /135 E49 SUMMICRON-M 1: 2 /90 55E SUMMILUX-M 1:1.4 / 75 SUMMILUX-M 1:1.4 / 35 I have checked B+W, but they do not make many of the sizes. Are Leica filters made by HOYA, and are they optimized for digital, since not all Leica lens are mounted to M8's?? Thanks

Thanks I guess you mean the UV/IR filters, if so then why not simply get the ones from Leica? That's what I did as well.
TimF Posted January 1, 2009 Share #3 Posted January 1, 2009 B+W will make filters to any size you require. I'm currently having an E41 size made via Robert White for my 50mm/1.5 Summarit. Price in the UK will be about £45 inc. VAT. They will need to know the size and thread pitch. There's a couple of useful links on this thread. HTH. intex Posted January 1, 2009 Author Share #4 Posted January 1, 2009 Thanks, I thought that maybe the Hoya would be better, but had difficulty finding all sizes, so I purchased the Leica brand UV/IR filters. Thanks again
