photogdave Posted December 24, 2008 Share #1 Posted December 24, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Anyone going to get this special edition? If you were already going to buy the black version and leather case then this won't really be too much more money. Will it truly be collectible? I was going to get an LX3 for my next digi but this Ti edition is kind of cool looking!
Advertisement Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 Hi photogdave, Take a look here D-Lux 4 Titanium?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
CX827 Posted December 25, 2008 Share #2 Posted December 25, 2008 I got mine yesterday and love it. Dont know it's collectable or not tho as i am no expert Note that the actual colors of the camera n the leather case are different than what we've seen on the net. From those pics the case looked more like chocolate brownish. But no, actually it's gray. (very much like the platinum gray paint from volkswagen)
georgio Posted December 25, 2008 Share #3 Posted December 25, 2008 @CX827 If you would have time to post some pictures of your Titanium 4, I would be very pleased. On the net I have only seen one very simple shot. Thanks!
CX827 Posted December 25, 2008 Share #4 Posted December 25, 2008 sure georgio, but since i dont have another DC on hand, so if you dont mind cell-phone quality picture, i will try to take some tomorrow then.

georgio Posted December 25, 2008 Share #6 Posted December 25, 2008 Cell phone quality is not so bad these days. No I would love to see some human shots and don't mind the quality at all. You know, sometimes these pictures tell me more than a slick promotion pic. Thank you. Geo
photogdave Posted December 25, 2008 Author Share #7 Posted December 25, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) For all the views, I'm surprised no one else seems too interested in this camera. Maybe it won't be too hard to get one after all!

carylwithay Posted December 28, 2008 Share #14 Posted December 28, 2008 Thank you for posting these. I have had mine on order for weeks but hope to have it soon. I know it is a limited edition but many sites on the web say there are to be 10,000 and some say 500. 10,000 is not a very limited edition! Anyone know the real number? photogdave Posted December 28, 2008 Author Share #15 Posted December 28, 2008 Thank you for posting these. I have had mine on order for weeks but hope to have it soon. Anyone know the real number?Caryl It's definitely more than 500. I think Leica USA is bringing in around 1200 or so but I don't know about the rest of the world. CX827 Posted December 29, 2008 Share #16 Posted December 29, 2008 according to the official site. 10,000 units is the correct number Leica Camera AG - LEICA D-LUX 4 Titan
carylwithay Posted December 29, 2008 Share #17 Posted December 29, 2008 Well, that is a surprise. Yes, it is a limited edition but so is every edition. Each is limited to what is produced at that time. I wonder if I would have ordered it if I had not thought there were to be only 500! Thank you for the reference. martinb Posted December 29, 2008 Share #19 Posted December 29, 2008 I also thought only 500 at first and ordered very quickly. But 10 000 isn't exactly very limited, especially after most people have already bought LX3's or D-Lux 4's.. I think there's a bit of false marketing going on here.. Guest Essemmlee Posted December 29, 2008 Share #20 Posted December 29, 2008 I think there's a bit of false marketing going on here.. It's called profiteering. Not that I'm against it. I have a D-Lux 4 myself. But this model is no longer a Limited Edition model. It simply brings in more profit for Leica. It most certainly won't take better pictures than an LX3 or a black D-Lux 4. As they say in England - Yer pays yer money, yer takes yer chances.
