doubice Posted December 20, 2008 Share #2 Posted December 20, 2008 Does the # 12526 Leica lens hood for 35 Cron fit also the 50 Cron ? I don't have either with me in the office but, the 12526 hood is square and as such needs a positioning pin so that it is always properly oriented on the lens. The Version 4 and Asph 35mm Summicrons have a cut-out to align the hood, the 50mm 'cron does not. If you would like a hood that fits both 35mm and 50mm 'crons, try the 12585 hood. It is metal, clip-on and round with cut-outs so that it blocks as little of the finder area as possible. One of the most solid hoods made for the camera. doubice Posted December 22, 2008 Share #5 Posted December 22, 2008 Leica M hoot 12504 pre asph is the one you should be looking forfor 28 mm and 35 mmLeica M hood 12538 for 50 mm pre aph Well.... not really. The 12504 was designed for 35mm lenses only, will not fit any 28mm lenses and is not deep (read effective) enough for the 50mm Summicron. The 12538 was a plastic version of the 12585 hood and is probably the cheapest built and ill-fitting hood you can get for the 50mm Summicrons. It came out during times when Leica was trying to cut costs wherever they could. Best, Jan
