JBA Posted March 24, 2009 Author Share #21 Posted March 24, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) My Minolta Autometer II appears to have crapped out on me. It was working fine when I was using it for some night shooting. I thought perhaps the bettery was just low, but dropping in a new one didn't seem to help. My guy at my local shop told me that even Minolta can't fix a meter that old, but I assume that somebody somewhere must be able to fix it. Or will I have to buy another one? Advertisement Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 Hi JBA, Take a look here Hand-held meter for low light shooting. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
JBA Posted March 25, 2009 Author Share #22 Posted March 25, 2009 The battery that came with it has definitely run down but occasionally musters the strength to turn the meter dial, so it appears not to be a problem with the meter itself. Reading the manual for the Auto Meter II, it specifies silver oxide batteries. Is it absolutely necessary to use the silver oxide rather than some other type? The non-silver oxide battery I got doesn't work at all but does power the Auto Meter III I got as a (very inadequate) replacement.
