mojobebop Posted December 15, 2008 Share #1 Posted December 15, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Passed on what turned out to be a 'miscatorgorized m5', (said 'E', turned out to be below average). Getting a user m4 instead. missing about an inch of vulcanite. Wondering if there is a easy fix for this, rather then sending the camera to get the entire covering removed. Thanks,

earleygallery Posted December 15, 2008 Share #2 Posted December 15, 2008 Hi, You can't properly repair the broken vulcanite - I understand it was quite a technical application in the first place. It can become brittle over time and start to break off. I think there are 3 options. Do nothing and live with it as is, maybe stick some masking/duck tape over the missing area to avoid more breaking off, or remove it all and replace with a new leather/imitation covering such as CameraLeather.com Custom camera leather and leatherette
