Advertisement Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 Hi cbretteville, Take a look here LX3 firmware v1.1 is now available. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
mhoutman Posted December 15, 2008 Share #2 Posted December 15, 2008 carl, thanx for letting us know. at least we now know the right firmware update procedure;)
ho_co Posted December 15, 2008 Share #3 Posted December 15, 2008 If I'm not mistaken, the flash isn't yet available for either brand, so there's no rush. Of course, for the price of the Leica flash we could go out and buy and upgrade the LX3 in the interim.
Bo_Lorentzen Posted December 15, 2008 Share #4 Posted December 15, 2008 Strangely my FL36 seems to work in TTL - at least it says TTL on the back when its put on the D-Lux4 and the exposures so far have been great... Though improved auto-focus is always welcome

Tenor1 Posted December 16, 2008 Share #6 Posted December 16, 2008 Hi Carl, Did you update a D-Lux 4 or an LX3? Can we use the Panasonic upgrade on a Leica? Regards, Carlos Marques
cbretteville Posted December 16, 2008 Author Share #7 Posted December 16, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Did you update a D-Lux 4 or an LX3? Can we use the Panasonic upgrade on a Leica? I upgraded an LX3 as that is what the firmware is for. I would strongly advice against trying to upgrade a D-Lux 4 - unless you can afford to buy a new one. - Carl
ho_co Posted December 16, 2008 Share #8 Posted December 16, 2008 ... Can we use the Panasonic upgrade on a Leica? Carlos-- The D-Lux 4 probably wouldn't recognize the file, but I agree with Carl that trying it is ill advised. Since we know that some functions differ between the two, you wouldn't want to risk letting the installer try to update something that isn't there. Tenor1 Posted December 17, 2008 Share #9 Posted December 17, 2008 Thanks Carl and Howard, I get my D-Lux 4 this Friday. People keep saying they are the same camera and that made me wonder about the upgrade. There must be some very different internal differences. Thanks, Carlos Marques
