If it is the M8 you can use the entire rangefinder window to frame with (not the framelines but the entire window, I know it's not easy, and I wear glasses, but it works and you get used to it) and you won't have the misalignment problems. M6 and MP. I've heard about using the whole window to frame, but on the film Ms it seems closer to a 24 view than a 21. I guess that would make sense considering the M8's crop factor. In any case, I'm assuming that the view through the external finder is approximate, so I'm bearing that in mind when I shoot, but I still don't have any idea of just how much of a difference I can expect to see in the final photos.
