Martin T-M Posted December 10, 2008 Share #2 Posted December 10, 2008 Al, it's very nice, even if I don't see exactly what it is! A window, maybe?

albert Posted December 10, 2008 Author Share #4 Posted December 10, 2008 Thanks fellows. 2F, or -17C here this morning. This is a window in one of our guest bedrooms. The room is actually warm and cozy. Looks like I need to perform some energy-saving fixes to this window.

stuny Posted December 10, 2008 Share #6 Posted December 10, 2008 Al - I'm so glad I don't get to see this on my windows any more. Lovely. I wonder if it would be stronger with the lock and bottom of the sash cropped.

Stuart, If you don't mind me saying.. ..for us who don't get this kind of cold weather IMHO, the bottom part is very important as it gives us a more clear view of what the whole frame really is. elansprint72 Posted December 10, 2008 Share #8 Posted December 10, 2008 Beautiful! I tried to explain this phenom to my kids a couple of years ago; they have never known it and would not believe me!!! Brings back memories; no wonder the world is running out of resources. albert Posted December 10, 2008 Author Share #9 Posted December 10, 2008 Thanks for looking and for taking an interest. Here is a pretty good link to help better understand the phenomenon: Guide to Frost One of these days I'll take a shot of the whole wall of that room. roguewave Posted December 11, 2008 Share #11 Posted December 11, 2008 Albert, nicely captured & presented. Very fine crystallization with good lighting. Glad I don't have to contend with that right now.
