elansprint72 Posted December 8, 2008 Share #1 Posted December 8, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Any fule with a Canon can take picture of cars racing; this year I was asked to secure something different for the 2010 publicity brochures and entrant's package. Of course, the temptation to bash off a zillion racing shots was very powerful and I did that too but... the client seems pleased with what I have sent in so far and today they asked for more. Because most of the cars come from the B&W era this is a particularly enjoyable project. This shot will probably be less than a quarter page, with text over the top right sky bit; sometimes it's hard to shoot with this kind of result in mind. Next time I'll make sure that my Speed Graphic (or it's replacement) is working.

elansprint72 Posted December 9, 2008 Author Share #3 Posted December 9, 2008 Thanks Stuart; I planned this shot some weeks in advance..... if you look at the clock, this is when the cars in the 24 hour race would re-appear on their first passage across the finish line, a time of great excitement in the tribunes. Unfortunately I found that the race "officials" had parked all sorts of modern "support" cars in front of my chosen position, hence the elevated crop. The best-laid plans....... etc.
