andit Posted December 1, 2008 Share #1 Posted December 1, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi Guys, Once more electric power was needed in Otjimbingwe, a diesel power plant was installed. I'm not exactly sure when it was built, but judging by the cooling water tank, I'd say it was around 1908 to 1912. Nowadays nothing would be riveted anymore, having been long replaced by arc welding. The voltage control knob, I assume, would be for raising or lowering the excitation current in order to generate electricity. Judging by the contactors, they were generating 400V three phase alternating current. Thanks for looking, all comments welcome. Andreas
