(I have used Bridge and ACR so far .... have Lightroom but have yet to install it) I have the new Capture One which came with the M8.2, and which is good for Leopard, which I use Mac Book Pro/iMac,........ is it worth it (Capture One) ... ? Then found out it was not ready for Leopard on a Mac. (was not thrilled with the price either)......Anyway, I have been using CS3 and ACR with the "Bridge" which I also do not like. I like some of the ACR tools, but end up doing most work in CS3. I am looking for a more agreeable way to open and get files into CS3. I prefer the C1 version because of the off-key red tones in the ACR/LR jacket. The reds are what bother me most in ACR. I was enthused about the custom profiling feature in the recent upgrade of ACR, but after experimenting I've decided C1 with the "DNG Neutral" profile often yields 'better' results than either the ACR Leica Beta profiles, or the custom ones I took the trouble to make. But 'better' just means 'more pleasing to my eye,' or 'more consistent with my style.' The fellow who made the profiles for Adobe wrote in the Luminous Landscape discussion forum that they're not necessarily neutral, but are tailored to fit what he thinks people like. I still use LR/ACR to get a quick look at my work, make initial work-prints, & post to the Web. But for the 'keepers' - those that deserve the effort of a fine print - I go back & try a C1 conversion to see if it might look better. It often does. Your sample comparison is nice work, but to my eye there's a yellow-ishness about the Adobe version that isn't there with C1. I prefer C1, which I've used since I owned a 1Ds many years back - I've never got on with ACR very well, even after trying Bruce Fraser's "calibration". We'll have to agree to differ on this. I'm just reporting what I've seen, which is most definitely the case for me. YMMV As for the second statement in my earlier post, it's also totally true!
