TimF Posted November 29, 2008 Share #21 Posted November 29, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) maybe it works with Leopard ? Make that definitely works with Leopard. Either that, or I have some unique power to make it run on my MacBook Pro.
Advertisement Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 Hi TimF, Take a look here Capture One doesn't see my M8.2 . I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
rafael_macia Posted November 29, 2008 Share #22 Posted November 29, 2008 Workflow .... something that I have not made smooth and easy for me yet. But perhaps C1 IS now for Leopard ? this was on the disc with the M8.2 "for Mac OS X 10.4.11 to 10.5.2" ... 10.5 IS Leopard ...... ? (I use ACR because I have yet to install Lightroom. Adobe "Bridge" is difficult for me to use. I find it "clunky" ...hard to move things around Friends have recommended LR I think I will try it soon) anyway good Luck Rafael
TimF Posted November 29, 2008 Share #23 Posted November 29, 2008 Yep, 10.5 is Leopard. I'm running 10.5.
LADP Posted November 29, 2008 Author Share #24 Posted November 29, 2008 Yes, C1 works on my 15" Macbook Pro (running Leopard (10.5.5), and it can load files from a card reader as many of you suggested. I bought a couple of cards and a card reader yesterday. It also was able to load files from my D-Lux 3 via a USB cable, but just couldn't do it with the M8.2 via the cable. I did just download Lr 2 last evening, after having a number of pro Photographer friends tell me it's the one to use. It does look to be well thought out, and perhaps more intuitive than C1 at first glance.
John B Posted December 18, 2008 Share #25 Posted December 18, 2008 I'm glad someone else has this problem, it's been driving me mad. I can import straight from the M8.2 into Aperture 2 (a lovely program btw!) but the rest of my 2 month old Macbook Pro won't recognise the camera and the M8.2 Instructions on this point are out to lunch. The problem for me is that as well as importing into Aperture 2 I always download to a desktop folder as well for onward transmission to an Ext HD, so that I have a non-Aperture set of original files as back up for P'shop direct. My D3 and D300 download seamlessly via USB to wherever I want. A card reader is yet more hassle AND on the one and only time I used (a bran-new) one it destroyed the card and all the files. There is obviously a failed interface here and I hope Leica can resolve it very soon... John B
Sam J. Samaha Posted December 26, 2008 Share #26 Posted December 26, 2008 Great thread, makes me feel a bit better about my camera after 2 days spent trying to download pics thru Capture 1 onto all 4 of my Macs. As mentioned, I get the camera "mounted" onto iPhoto, but cannot find it (or the SD card) under Adobe Bridge, or Capture One. I have an older SD reader that only goes to 2GB, so as soon as Christmas is over I will be down at the local Best Buy to get a newer SDHC reader.. One thing I don't get however is why the SD Card doesn't mount to the desktop of the Mac even though it shows up in iPhoto? Thanks and Merry Christmas!
