Every part on every US model 1861 musket no matter who made it can be exchanged onto any other 1861 musket. This started in 1819 at the Hall rifle works in Harpers Ferry Va. and by 1861 was utilized by every arms maker in the US. In Britain only the armory at Royal Enfield had adopted the "American" system by this time.
