Stuart,

 

There was a bit of CA around the moon (because of the extender), so I removed it in PS. I also sharpened the moon selectively (without feathering). But the jaggedness around the rim was present even before all this. It was much more noticeable with the extender. So, I think the jaggedness we're seeing is actually the craters on the moon and not artifact.

My without a feather comment was a silly homage to your wonderful bird photos.

 

 

I get it now. :o I took PP to mean postprocessing and not my initials. My wife keeps telling me I'm dense. I suppose she has a point. :)
