Pixels & Print size?

I have observed that the max suggested print image size from the various digital cameras is fairly small with sensors ranging from 7.5 to 10 Mp. In order to print high quality B&W images to 10X15 inches, what is the min. size file required. I know that it is "more than pixels" that matters, so what leica camera would be up to the task, Digilux 3, D Lux 4,Etc?

All of them. To get your print size/ DPI number, go to Photoshop, set your DPI to 150 (I know 300 is often suggested, but for all practical purposes there is not much wrong with 150) and resize your image to your preferred print size. For critical work it may get more elaborate, but I don't think that is what you are looking at.

Goodness.... a file from a Digilux 3 will easily print 20x30 ...

All pixels are not created equal. I have a D-Lux3 and an M8. The D-Lux3 will make acceptable prints up to about 11x14 - after that you can see the problems with the small sensor like purple fringing. I can easily make 18x28 inch prints from the M8 and in some cases push them to 20x30. Pixel size has at least as much to do with print quality as the pixel count.

Digital is processing and manipulating - I currently use a D lux 4

so adjust image size 200 or 300 pixel cm and your print size you may end up with a pix of few hunded MP, yesterday I was playing and ended with 1.4 GB, my Mac could not process so I cut down to 500 MP file and got a beautifull print to show off a relative who got a new Sony 24 MP A900.

I do not like capure one I just change the pix to tif format and use Sigma processor for the DP1 camera.
