Re-starting the hobby - at the wrong end

Hi, you have a M6 with a meter. For a thrill, some hardcore precision mechanics, and a bit of a challenge initially, try out a meter-less M. Just use a hand held meter to start; then you will find a certain creative power and liberty in working without the in-camera meter. Don't get me wrong, I love my MP; for shooting at certain social occasions, its in-camera meter is so useful and helps me to avoid the distracting aspects of aiming a meter at someone in difficult lighting. But for a lot of my shooting, I think I prefer my M3 and M2 over my MP. All of my Ms are superb, but my M2 and M3 have a certain je ne sais quoi.

My advice is :>

M4 or M6? Buy the M4.

M4 or M2/M3? Buy the M2 if for 35; M3 if for 50.

I´m now definitely getting a second body. The question:

Should I get an identical M6 OR a silver M4 which has been offered at 650€?

Hi,

from my point of view you are at the very beginning of your re-start too much hardware orientated.

Instead of buing a second body you should invest into film, film, film......;)

Bernd

great buy :D congratulations

now you have two bodies. Im curious to hear how do you feel with M4?

Myself I must be crazy when I want to have 3x M3 and M7 0.58x. So you are not alone. But I used to think it is just for lifetime.. lifetime.

Hi fellow M fans,

After many months of research and internal debate as to whether buying a film-based camera is a "prudent/rational" decision, I took the plunge and am now the proud owner of an M4-2. Now if I only had a lens...
