richam Posted October 7, 2006 Share #5 Posted October 7, 2006 Nice fall colors on the first one, set off nicely by the winding road and bridge. Well done. #2 is nice, but doesn't have the geometric interest of the first one. Mike

larry Posted October 8, 2006 Share #7 Posted October 8, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Al, Nice shot, makes me want to go out and have a last look at the fall colors. I'm trying to figure out where in north central Minnesota you shot this. I haven't been down every road, but this one looks strangely familiar. (With the wind and dry weather we've been having, there won't be any leaves left by next weekend.) Larry
albert Posted October 8, 2006 Author Share #8 Posted October 8, 2006 Hi Larry.....this was Friday afternoon, just East of Carlton on the road to Jay Cook State Park. NorthCentral isn't really a very accurate description....Al
larry Posted October 8, 2006 Share #9 Posted October 8, 2006 Al, Thanks, that explains why it looked familiar! You'll probably recognize this scene from a little bit up the road (Lutsen area) taken the first week in September. The leaves were already changing, but very muted from the dry conditions. albert Posted October 8, 2006 Author Share #10 Posted October 8, 2006 Larry, Nice. The Sawtooth Mountains. I need to go there again.....beautiful photograph...camera ?
larry Posted October 8, 2006 Share #11 Posted October 8, 2006 Al, Thanks -- I used my P&S Panasonic FZ7. It has a Leica designed and branded lens, so it sort of qualifies as "forum legal." In case you didn't get a postcard, there's an M8 demo next Saturday from 10 am to 6 pm at National Camera in Golden Valley. This could be the ultimate temptation. Although that camera costs a chunk of change, I'm already so deep into the M system there's no reason to stop now other than bankruptcy.
