Paulu Posted November 3, 2008 Author Share #3 Posted November 3, 2008 Thank you. This was a bag that didn't look like a camera bag. A shepherds bag, or something like it. Paul

sfokevin Posted November 4, 2008 Share #7 Posted November 4, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) They look ok for a casual style... Has anyone actually used one from this French manufacturer?... Some of these rough looking leather bags flake off a lot of leather lint from the interior... Close up photos don't look like it is made very well... not worth that price... Kinda like the crap you see in the street stalls in Firenze... Kinda like the crap you see in the street stalls in Firenze... Surely you jest? The quality appears to be incredible. The style... personal taste... if I have any concern of these bags it would be the weight. But, to question the quality is absurd. It's easy to see the craftsmanship... look at the closeup detail photos. Style wise, it's a satchel look that's not for everyone. JT
Guest stnami Posted November 4, 2008 Share #9 Posted November 4, 2008 Better of buying a calf probably weigh as much ......................at least you can strap your gear to the calf
sketchyhead Posted November 4, 2008 Share #10 Posted November 4, 2008 I do remember the leather bag you mention but can't find the link either. Trouble is, posh leather bags look so fabulously expensive, they are prone to get stolen. I prefer to stick with my battered old Billingham which never draws a second look. mikef Posted February 10, 2009 Share #12 Posted February 10, 2009 I just took delivery of a le sac du berger Shepherd's Bag No. 3 (29mm x 33mm x11) and the quality is excellent. But the large main compartment isn't padded or sectioned. Any suggestions for an insert that would protect the M8 and a lens?

mikef Posted February 14, 2009 Share #16 Posted February 14, 2009 Billingham Small Hadley insert arrived and it just barely fits in the Le Sac du Berger Shepherd's No. 3 bag. Really have to cram it in there. Anyone aware of a padded insert that is smaller than the Hadley Small (10 x 2.75 x 7 1/8" (25.4 x 7 x 18.5cm) ) insert? cwf Posted February 16, 2009 Share #17 Posted February 16, 2009 Billingham has their own SuperFlex inserts in a variety of sizes. Perhaps one or more would work for you. M Billingham and Co SuperFlex Inserts

craigrmurray Posted February 17, 2009 Share #19 Posted February 17, 2009 I'm a little light on the lingo -- what is a "shepherds bag"? Is that a generic term, or a trademark, and is it peculiar to England? I'm from Kansas City, and not really quite up to date...
stunsworth Posted February 18, 2009 Share #20 Posted February 18, 2009 Craig, it's the name given to the bag by the manufacturer.
