dkCambridgeshire Posted November 1, 2008 Share #1 Posted November 1, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Has anyone found a proprietary brand of ever ready case suitable for use, or adaptable for use, with a Leica Model 1 body? I am aware of Luigi cases but prefer to buy a budget brand ... ie just something to support the camera adequately and safely ... and with a neck strap. As the camera has no strap lugs I prefer to use some sort of case or half case to which a neck strap is fitted. Cheers dunk

Check for a large screw one. I have phoned all the main UK Leica dealers today to enquire about a genuine vintage case without success ... Also checked their websites ... The Vienna Leica Shop has one but at €180 inc VAT it is rather expensive. I'll settle for any modern case that safely fits. Cheers dunk

UliWer Posted November 2, 2008 Share #7 Posted November 2, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) The new edition of the "0"-Serie from 2001 came with a leather-bag in the original style. It should fit a Leica 1. Perhaps a Leica dealer who sold the "0"-Serie without bag still has a bag on stock (... though you should be prepared to pay a Leica-price for it). dkCambridgeshire Posted November 2, 2008 Author Share #8 Posted November 2, 2008 The new edition of the "0"-Serie from 2001 came with a leather-bag in the original style. It should fit a Leica 1. Perhaps a Leica dealer who sold the "0"-Serie without bag still has a bag on stock (... though you should be prepared to pay a Leica-price for it). Yes it would fit very nicely and Foto Hobby has one but it is a bit more than I want to pay ... also I have seen an 'O' Replica camera for sale which I'm considering and that would have the case with it. I now realize that that most pre-IIIC cases will fit ie the footprint is common to all and have seen some on offer .. so will probably settle for one of those. Thanks for the advice received Cheers dunk
steed Posted November 3, 2008 Share #9 Posted November 3, 2008 I use an anonymous well padded pouch with a flap on one side for my two series III Leicas. There are hundreds like it all available for next to nothing. The strap goes outside the flap when it is closed, so the camera in its pouch hangs from my neck. I don't like to advertise what I am carrying. Steed
